We’re celebrating our 3rd year anniversary!! We couldn’t agree more with one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs that now holds even more meaning as time passes by: “every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time”

In the meantime, let’s celebrate!! We are hosting our very first latte art throw down on Tuesday November 3rd! We’ll have a popular ramen pop-up by @brothoholics , some @cliffsandos and just an overall great time 🕺 ☕️ 🍜 💃🏼 ✨

Please join us whether it’s to compete or just cheer on your favorite local barista! We’ll have some giveaways and swag from some of our favorite vendors, some @manhattanprojectbeer to go down with that ramen, and a barista confession box! We’ll randomly read some aloud and you’ll vote on which one you think is the funniest or most scandalous 🫪🫣

Introducing another coffee we’re super excited to announce, and by a producer that really needs no introduction:

Sebastian Ramirez – Watermelon Co-Ferment ☕️🍉

We know days are getting cooler, but for those who refuse to let go of Summer, we got you. This coffee is also roasted by us, and we have a super small supply of it. This coffee is exploding with juiciness and sweetness. It was fermented anaerobically in mucilage with watermelon and fruit glucose, which adds its special touch. Just like with his other coffees, Sebastian carries out a careful and measured process at each step. After its fermentation, it is taken to the drying phase where it is constantly stirred and its temperature controlled, as this is one of the steps that ensures this coffee maintains its attributes for much longer.

We love seeing and sharing images of all the hands and faces behind the countless hours of hard, meticulous work that make our daily ritual possible

We’ve added this coffee to our slow bar menu, and also available for retail to take home! Come give it a try and see what makes Sebastian Ramirez such a special producer in the coffee world

Introducing one of our newest additions to our slow bar and retail menu: Andres Martinez Blackberry Honey Co-ferment

This is a beautiful Colombian coffee roasted by us that was sourced via our friends @unblendedcoffee as part of their Young Producers Program

This lot from Andres was born from his curiosity to develop a mosto capable of intensifying the natural flavor of blackberries. By blending fresh Castilla blackberries with enology yeast, he created a vibrant, tannic-rich mosto that captures the essence of the fruit. After four days of anaerobic fermentation, the mosto is ready and the coffee is added to the tank, where both components co-ferment for an additional four days in sealed tanks. Once the fermentation is complete, the coffee is lightly washed to remove excess fruit.
The result is an innovative and expressive coffee with pronounced blackberry notes, balanced sweetness, and a creamy texture—a cup that showcases Andrés’ creativity and the depth of this unique process

Andres is sort of a protégé, having learned and worked under the mentorship of Diego Bermudez, a producer giant well respected in the specialty coffee world

Come visit our shop and try this beautiful coffee on pour-over or espresso, and we’ll also have retail for you to take home!

Fall is finally fallin’ 🍂

If you’ve been to our shop this week, you may have noticed our new Fall menu, it’s one we’re super excited about…and our crew absolutely crushed it.

We combined our love for coffee with our love for music, so this year’s drinks have a fun twist as they’re named after some of our favorite bands 🕺🪩

THE SMASHING PUMPKINS
A Fall classic, love it or hate it, no judgment here. We make all our syrups and sauces in-house so give it a try and indulge on all things pumpkin for the next couple months…we’ll be putting her out of rotation rather quickly. Available iced or hot and with either espresso or matcha

THE 1975
Think baked apples and cinnamon, spice…the perfect Fall drink for those upcoming crisp mornings…also, no obvious tie to The 1975…however, Apple was founded in 1976, close enough in our books. Also available iced/hot and with spro or matcha

THE DOLLY
We made a butterscotch sauce, and it is absolutely delicious, just the right amount of sweet, and she’s the perfect replacement of the BFF in our opinion. The name is obvious, our “sweetest” drink on this year’s menu, representing Dolly’s genuine sweet character (RIP Dolly). Enjoy hot or iced, spro or matcha

THE INTERPOL
Rosemary, orange peel syrup, heavy cream and a couple dashes of orange bitters for this season’s shakerato. And yes, our only reference to this song is an Interpol song…ask any Millennial, they’ll know which one. No mods on this one!

Come try them this weekend!

The manager is so good with people but also deeply cares about detail and puts her heart into her craft. The staff is always professional and precise. The owners of Slow and Steady love what they do, treat their staff well, and are constantly looking to innovate and improve not only as a coffee shop but also as coffee lovers. My favorite thing to get is an iced coffee and a bagel! They also have great signature and seasonal drinks, matcha, as well as all the classics. Whether you’re a coffee snob, or someone that likes something fun with the foam on top, you should pull through! They also host events to support their local community of business owners.
